#### Question 2

Round 3.938 correct to 2 decimal places (hundredths)

- 3.938 lies between 3.930 and 3.940.
- 8 is greater than 5.
- Therefore we round it up to 3.94.

As shown on the number line, 3.938 is closer to 3.940 than to 3.930. |

#### Question 3

Round 1.1285 correct to 3 decimal places (thousandths)

- 1.1285 lies between 1.1280 and 1.1290.
- By convention as the following digit is 5 the number is rounded up.
- Therefore we round it up to 1.129.
