Two way tables
Further explanation of the use of the two-way table
First here is a table with the form of the information.
We use the words and and not.
| MP3 player | Not MP3 player | |
|---|---|---|
| DVD player | Number with DVD and MP3 | Number with DVD and not MP3 |
| Not DVD player | Number with not DVD and MP3 | Number with not DVD and not MP3 |
| MP3 player | Not MP3 player | |
|---|---|---|
| DVD player | 36 | 12 |
| Not DVD player | 6 | 26 |
In the example:
Number with DVD and MP3 = 36
Number with DVD and not MP3 = 12
Number with not DVD and MP3 = 6
Number with not DVD and not MP3 = 26
| Number with DVD | = Number with DVD and MP3 + Number with DVD and not MP3 | |
| = 36 + 12 | ||
| = 48 |
