As academic research in digital security has developed over the last twenty or so years, techniques and applications are being developed to be of specific use in this area. These include wavelets and their applications in digital forensics, classification algorithms for use in malicious software detection, and genetic algorithms custom-made for the cryptographic community.

This workshop will assemble a number of people working across a spectrum of techniques and applications relevant to the digital security community in order to understand the methods currently available, determine gaps needing to be filled and develop five and ten year plans for the development of the area.
