The 8th Annual AMSI Summer School was hosted by La Trobe University from 11 January to 5 February, 2010. The organising committee, Grant Cairns, Brian Davey, Marcel Jackson, Chris Kozaris and Andriy Olenko presented an excellent program comprising seven subjects and a number of guest lectures.
There will be a number of other activities: some mathematical and some social. This is an excellent opportunity for students to broaden their mathematical base, and to make useful connections with mathematics students and staff from around Australia. Past experience has shown that students find the summer school to be a very enjoyable and enriching experience. |
Message to parents:
There have been recent reports in the media regarding high-pressure techniques used in the marketing and sale of computer based
mathematics learning systems. The Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute (AMSI) is not in any way associated, connected or
affiliated with companies or organisations involved in these activities, and does not endorse or vouch for such products in any way.
