The AMSI Research and Higher Education national programs support undergraduate students through to early-career researchers and professionals by supplementing university curriculums, providing discipline-specific careers advice, building strong science communications skills, creating networking opportunities and facilitating collaborations.

Summer Research Scholarships

AMSI funds and supports undergraduate students from around Australia to spend their summer holidays (December–February) working on supervised research projects. Open to intending honours and masters students, AMSI Summer Research Scholars undertake research, build a project, submit a blog, and present to their peers and supervisors at AMSIConnect, the exclusive student conference held in February.

BioinfoSummer

AMSI BioInfoSummer is Australia’s leading bioinformatics and computational biology training event.  This four-day conference brings together advanced undergraduate and postgraduate students, researchers and professionals from all disciplines. Attendees develop their bioinformatics skills, national networks and employability.

Summer School

AMSI Summer School is the biggest maths event in Australia for honours and postgraduate students in the mathematical sciences. This four-week program offers eight exciting subjects by specialist lectures from around Australia.The school also features a number of program extras including social events, a careers session, public lecture and Diversity in STEM events.

ACE Network

Access more honours and masters level mathematical sciences subjects online through the AMSI ACE Network. Open to honours, masters, third-year undergraduates and PhD students, subjects can be taken for credit with university permission.

AMSI and AustMS support research collaboration by providing joint funding for mathematical sciences workshops and conferences held in Australia.

Winter School

AMSI Winter School is a two-week themed research training event comprising a series of mini-courses and introductory lectures in the first week that lead into current research problems and specialist lectures in the second week. The program is complemented by a public lecture and networking events.
