MathWest: a UWA Mathematics Symposium Celebrating the First IMU Executive Committee Australian Visit

The two day symposium will include talks by the following members of the International Mathematical Union Executive Committee:

  • Ingrid Daubechies (Duke University, US)
  • Laszlo Lovasz ( Eötvös Loránd University, Hungary)
  • Christiane Rousseau ( Université de Montréal, Canada)
  • John Toland ( University of Bath, UK)
  • Marcelo Viana ( Instituto de Matemática Pura e Aplicad, Brazil)
  • Wendelin Werner ( Université Paris-Sud 11, France)

Mathematics: how a nation plans for the future – the Spanish, Indian and Chinese experience, a forum chaired by Nalini Joshi (University of Sydney) and including presentations by:

  • Manuel de León (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, Madrid, Spain)
  • Yinming Long (Nankai University, China)
  • Vasudevan Srinivas (Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, India)

AMSI is offering a limited number of grants to partially cover travel and accommodation for early career researchers at AMSI member institutions.
